The NCAA Tournament

I haven't posted in quite a while, but that doesn't mean I haven't been working on things for the blog.  I hope to have some new features up in the near future but I'm still ironing out some major kinks.  Stay tuned.  Or not...

I did not fill out a bracket for this year's NCAA tournament.  I'll pause while you clean off your monitor.  This is the first time since I can remember that I haven't filled one out and frankly, I feel no shame.  Here's a list of possible reasons why I didn't fill out a bracket:

  • I don't have any friends.
  • I have friends but they didn't invite me to join their pool because they're not really my friends.
  • I have friends and they are really my friends but they didn't invite me to join their pool because I win every year.
  • I'm too cheap to pony up the cash for a proper pool.
  • I'm not too cheap to pony up for a pool but I crunched the numbers and the potential probability of winning versus the cost of playing was not within my risk tolerance.
  • I have a moral objection to gambling.
  • I have a moral objection to basketball.
  • I have no moral objection to either gambling or basketball but I do have a moral old guys in suits who get paid to yell at kids who wear the sneakers that the old guy gets paid to make those kids wear.
  • I was so busy that I completely forgot.
  • I didn't actually forget but I was so busy that I never got around to it.
  • I was so frustrated by Notre Dame's season that I intentionally avoided it.
  • I was also frustrated by Notre Dame's basketball team.
  • My Internet connection was down.
  • My Internet connection wasn't down, but it was bogged down downloading porn.
  • I was busy filling out my bracket and organizing a pool for the NIT.
  • I wasn't busy doing anything for the NIT but I was busy as hell researching the women's NCAA tournament.
  • I wasn't busy doing anything for the women's NCAA tournament but I was busy trying to find someone who cares about the World Baseball Classic.
  • I wasn't busy trying to find someone who cares about the World Baseball Classic because I hate baseball.
  • I started to fill out my bracket but totally went off on a tangent when someone mentioned the NIT and ended up talking about baseball somehow.
  • My wife forbids it.
  • No, seriously.  She's a stickler.

Pick one, pick several, or pick them all but I'm pretty sure the actual reason I didn't fill out any NCAA brackets this year is in there somewhere.  Or not.
